Hoboken Minimalist Bachelor Pad
For this bachelor living in Hoboken, we aimed to create a welcoming space that could provide him the retreat he needed while offering comfort and flexibility for entertaining guests. The living room boasts amazing natural light, and we wanted to highlight that feature. The white walls contribute to the brightness of the space, so we opted to paint the two walls adjacent to the window wall a dark gray.
This choice not only defines the space but also naturally directs attention towards the window wall. The client, S, has a passion for art and commissioned two unique pieces by Sebastian Ferreira that read, “I am the master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul.”
In addition to the living room, we assisted S in reimagining his bedroom. He desired a space that was cozy and warm yet sleek and modern. We established a datum line around the room at about 5’; the lower portion of the wall was painted a dark gray, and the upper portion, a light gray. This combination imparts a sense of coziness and comfort to the space.
